Dutch law guarantees a minimum of 20 vacation days per year for full-time employees (4 × weekly working hours). Most CAOs grant more — typically 25 days. Holiday pay (vakantiegeld) is 8% of annual gross salary, paid in May. Unused days expire after 6 months (for statutory days) or 5 years (for extra contractual days). You cannot waive your statutory minimum during employment.
