1. Who we are

DutchNewcomer is a product by Peak Services. We provide fiscal signal monitoring, employment law information, and calculation tools for expats in the Netherlands. Our services are for informational purposes only and do not constitute tax, legal, or financial advice.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: email address, hashed password, subscription tier, expat type
  • Expat profile data: arrival date, nationality, employment contract details, housing information, family situation, residence permit, stored to generate your personal fiscal timeline
  • Usage data: calculator inputs and results (saved to your account only)
  • Communication preferences: email frequency and category settings
  • Billing data: handled entirely by Stripe, so we do not store card details

3. How we use your data

  • To provide access to your subscription plan and personalised fiscal timeline
  • To send fiscal and employment law signal alerts based on your preferences
  • To send deadline reminders based on your expat profile (contract end, proeftijd, permit expiry)
  • To run the optional "My reminders" feature, storing only the dates and item types you choose to enter (e.g. 30% ruling end, permit expiry, APK, tax assessment year) so we can remind you and generate a calendar file. We store no document numbers or financial amounts, and we never verify these dates with any authority
  • To run the optional moving-in checklist, storing only your chosen move-in date and which checklist items you tick off (e.g. home insurance, energy, water, internet). We store no account numbers, meter numbers or contract details, and we never arrange any service on your behalf
  • To send transactional emails (account creation, billing)
  • To improve our products (aggregated, anonymized analytics only)

4. Legal basis (GDPR)

Processing is based on: (a) contract performance: to provide the services you subscribed to; (b) legitimate interest: to send relevant alerts aligned with your stated preferences; (c) consent: for optional marketing communications.
